Choose your centerpiece: Start with the main dish (turkey, ham, or whatever you’re serving) and build the menu around it. Knowing your centerpiece first helps everything else fall into place.
Make your timeline early: Write down when things go in (and out of) the oven, what can be reheated, and what needs last-minute finishing. A good timeline keeps Thanksgiving calm, or at least closer to it.
Use the Save feature: Log in and save your recipes into a collection so you have everything in one place. You can adjust servings and make a shopping list straight from your saved recipes. No scribbled notes or missing ingredients.
Prep ahead wherever you can: Chop the onions, cube the bread for stuffing, bake the pies. Anything that can be done a day or two early will make the big day smoother. Thanksgiving is a marathon, not a sprint.
Mix in some make-ahead recipes: Plan a few dishes that are just as good reheated or served at room temperature. Mashed potatoes, casseroles, and most desserts can be made in advance and give you breathing room on the day of.
Be strategic with oven space: Your oven has limits (unfortunately). Use your slow cooker, Instant Pot, or stovetop to spread out the workload, and make sure something can stay warm while the turkey rests.
Delegate: Let guests bring a dish, pour drinks, or handle appetizers. Thanksgiving is about gathering, not starring in a one-person cooking show.
Don’t forget the serving plan: Label your dishes, grab extra serving spoons, and clear space on the counter before guests arrive. Future you will be grateful when it’s time to serve.
