My cousin, Tiffany lives in Alaska but planned to come down to Washington for her wedding since this is where most of her family lives as well as all her school friends.  Her wedding colors were blue and light pink.  She had planned to decorate with blue toile fabric and sent me a swatch of the fabric so I could use it as inspiration for her wedding cake.

I scanned the fabric and used the picture of it to print strips of edible rice paper that would match her fabric.  I laid the printed rice paper on a strip of fondant and wrapped it around each tier.  The sugar paste roses were made a couple of weeks in advance so they would have time to dry out.

Tiffany asked for a red velvet cake.  Since cream cheese frosting will melt fondant, I only sandwiched the cream cheese frosting between the cake layers then I covered each tier in Italian Meringue Buttercream before finishing it with the fondant.   The cake board is covered with more fondant to give it a clean finished look

Tiffany had a beautiful wedding and the weather in late October could not have been more perfect with a warm sunny day.

Tiffany was a contestant and 4th runner up in the 2011 Miss Alaska pageant and second runner up in the 2012 Miss Alaska pageant.  She will be graduating from Alaska University in May and she and her husband are expecting their first child in July. I am so proud of her achievements and excited for her future.
