An Easy Pot Roast Seasoning Recipe

As you may have already guessed, the process is quite simple.

We have all of the ingredient amounts and steps in the recipe card at the bottom of the page, but here’s a quick look at how to make it:

Measure the ingredients into a glass jar (or similar airtight container). You can also toss the ingredients together in a bowl prior to transferring them to a jar.

Stir to combine (or give it a good shake) and cover the jar with a tight-fitting lid. The pot roast seasoning is now ready to use! Store it in a cool place like your pantry or spice cabinet.

A dish of seasoning mix

Use 1-1/2 to 2 teaspoons of seasoning per pound of meat. Sprinkle it on all sides of the pot roast, dust lightly with flour, and sear the roast in a hot skillet to get a caramelized crust.

This pot roast seasoning will infuse your next pot roast with incredible savory flavor!

One great thing about it is that you can actually use any spices and dried herbs that are your favorites. Some of our other recommendations include powdered fennel, herbs de Provence, smoky paprika, or dried tarragon.

They all pair really well with roast beef, and in fact, you may just find that this pot roast seasoning also works for a few other delicious recipes, too! Use it on baked tri tip, seared steaks, or even lamb chops.
