Prepare the grill for a medium-hot fire. Or use the low heat after you finish grilling your main meal. If you have a pellet grill, try using Apple or Cherry pellets, but any type of wood will taste great with the peaches.
Cut the peaches in half and remove the pits. Brush the cut side with oil.
Place cut side down on the grill and cook for 4 to 7 minutes (4 minutes if your fire is hot or 7 minutes if the heat is lower). While the peaches are grilling, brush the tops of them with more oil to prevent them from sticking when you flip them over.
Flip the peach halves over and grill for another 4 to 7 minutes.
Transfer the grilled peaches to a serving plate and sprinkle with cinnamon.
Serve warm with ice cream and caramel sauce.
Notes
Choose firm but ripe peaches. If the peaches are overly ripe and soft then they will fall apart on the grill and get mushy.
You can grill peaches over a medium hot fire or over lower heat. The time it takes them to cook will depend on how hot your grill is. You will get darker char marks when you use a hotter fire but if you use lower heat, the peaches will have more time to get soft and juicy in the center.
