Ingredients

  • 1 loaf of French bread
  • 12 tablespoons softened butter
  • 5 cloves of garlic minced
  • 3 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 cup pizza sauce
  • 8 oz. thick cut shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ¼ to ½ cup pepperoni slices
  • 8 ounces of cooked ground sausage
  • grated Parmesan cheese for garnish
  • red pepper flakes for garnish

For the Garnish

  • Freshly chopped basil
  • Parmesan cheese
  • Pizza seasoning

Instructions

  • Heat oven to 400 degrees.
  • Slice the loaf in half lengthwise and place on a baking sheet, cut side up.
  • In a small bowl, combine the butter, garlic, parsley, and garlic powder. Mix until well combined, then spread it on each side.
  • Bake the bread for 7 to 10 minutes or until the edges start to get a very light golden brown.
  • Remove the bread from the oven and slather the pizza sauce on top.
  • Sprinkle with shredded cheese, sausage, and pepperoni slices.
  • Return the pizza bread to the oven and bake for 10 to 15 minutes or until the edges of the bread get golden brown and the cheese is melted.
  • If desired, top with freshly chopped basil, pizza seasoning, and Parmesan.

Notes

  • While mozzarella is recommended for its meltability and mild flavor, feel free to experiment with different types of cheese like provolone or cheddar.
  • Pepperoni and sausage are classic choices, but you can also try other toppings like bacon, ham, or even chicken. For a vegetarian option, skip the meats and add more vegetables like bell peppers, onions, or mushrooms.
