BBQ Seasoning Recipe

You have to have a perfect, go-to spice blend to rub on your food for your next barbecue and this is it! There is a good balance of sweetness and a slight bite of heat from the cayenne and chili powder. The cumin and oregano add a great aroma and unique flavor. Stop grabbing the generic barbecue spice form the grocery store, you can make it yourself for a fraction of the cost and you will be sure that it is fresh!

Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 3 tablespoons smoked paprika
  • 3 tablespoons onion powder
  • 2 tablespoons garlic powder
  • 2 tablespoons oregano
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon cumin
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 to 2 teaspoons cayenne pepper

Instructions

  • Combine all ingredients into a large mixing bowl.
  • Thoroughly combine all ingredients with a fork.
  • Transfer the barbecue spice blend to an airtight container and store it for later use.
  • Now you are ready for your next barbecue!

Notes

  • I used my hands to combine all the spices and ensure the blend didn't have any clumps.
  • You can store this spice blend in an airtight container for up to 3 years.
