  • 1 package 16 ounces lentils (about 2-1/4 cups)
  • 2 teaspoons onion powder
  • 1-1/2 teaspoons dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 3 cups chicken or vegetable broth

Instructions

  • Rinse the lentils and pick out any pebbles if you find them.
  • Place all the ingredients in the Instant Pot. Close the lid and make sure the valve is in the ‘sealed’ position.
  • Cook on high pressure for 10 minutes.
  • Allow the Instant Pot to release the pressure naturally for 10 minutes then release any remaining pressure manually.
  • Open the lid and stir. Add additional seasoning if desired.

Notes

  • You can use brown, green, or Puy lentils with this recipe.
  • If you use red or yellow lentils, reduce the cooking time to 8 minutes
