Rich Chocolate Sauce

This chocolate ganache makes a velvety smooth and rich chocolate sauce with only two ingredients. It is fast and easy to make and tastes like pure decadence.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup cream 230 grams
  • 7 ounces dark chocolate 200 grams, finely chopped (use 55% to 70% chocolate)

Optional Flavoring

  • 2 tablespoons Brandy Cognac or your choice of alcoholic spirits

Instructions

  • Place the cream in a small saucepan and heat over medium heat until just barely simmering. Remove from heat and whisk in the chopped chocolate until completely melted and smooth.
  • Stir in the brandy or cognac, if using.

Notes

This sauce will firm up to a thick truffle-like consistency when it is cooled, just zap it in the microwave for a few seconds to reach a pourable consistency.
