Ingredients

  • 2 sticks salted butter 1 cup room temperature
  • 3 garlic cloves grated or minced
  • 2 tablespoons finely chopped fresh rosemary
  • 2 tablespoons fresh thyme leaves

Instructions

  • Place all the ingredients in a dish and blend together until combined and smooth. Taste and add salt if desired.
  • Transfer the butter mixture to a sheet of parchment paper, shape into a log and roll in the parchment paper.  Label the log and refrigerate.
  • To use, unwrap and slice off as much as desired, then rewrap the remaining log.

Notes

  • Use a good quality of butter.
  • Additional choices for the herbs: oregano, parsley, chives, basil, cilantro or sage.
  • Store in the refrigerator for 1 week or in the freezer for up to 6 months.
  • If you use unsalted butter, you may want to add a pinch of salt to the mix.
  • You can use roasted garlic instead of fresh garlic for a milder garlic flavor that will let the herbs shine.
