Smoked Beer Can Chicken with Gravy

This smoked beer can chicken is coated in an herb garlic butter rub and cooked low and slow in the Traeger for the perfect smoky flavor.

We saved the drippings for a delicious smoky  gravy flavored with the beer, herbs, and garlic butter

Ingredients: Chicken, herbs, garlic, lemon, butter, olive oil, salt, pepper, and one beer can (full of beer). You can also use a wine can.

Make the herb garlic butter then smother it on the chicken. Make sure to get under the skin and inside the cavity.

Stuff the bird with herbs and lemon. Pour some beer in a dish then place it in a rack and slide the chicken over the top of the beer can.

Smoke the chicken on the pellet grill (or a regular grill and use a smoke tube). Make sure to baste the chicken with the drippings a few times while it smokes.

Place the dish with the drippings in the fridge to chill. When the fat solidifies, scrape it off and make the gravy.

By cooking the chicken slowly at a lower temperature, it allows the chicken to absorb all that delicious smokey flavor! Grab a beer and smoke a beer can chicken!
